Every year, Tekeyan Cultural Association receives funds from well wishers who contribute to the salaries of the teachers at the Armenia Schools who are among the most underpaid segments of the population. On February, 2001 the Board of Administrators launched the Sponsor a Teacher program, where people can donate up to $120 dollars to any teacher during a period of one year. The program is successful and so far (Nov, 2001) with more than 175 teachers sponsored for a period of one year from many donors all over United States.
