Vahan Tekeyan(1878-1945)

During the last half century, the Tekeyan Cultural Association:

Organized thousands of cultural programs from Middle East to US and Australia Armenian communities;

The founder's purpose was to keep the young people attached to their homeland by educating them about their history, culture, motherland, the church and through these to inspire them to have a strong faith about their identity ;

During this period the Armenian nation in the Diaspora lived a rebirth specially in the aftermath of the Second World War;

The Association was the first Armenian organization in the world who during the cold war invited the Armenian Dance group from Soviet Armenia for a tour of Middle Eastern Armenian Communities, by doing so the Association opened the door to a cultural exchange programs between the motherland and the Diaspora.

In Armenia, the Tekeyan Cultural Association has adopted four schools, has printed numerous books, built a Cultural Center and established the first FM radio station.
